Pickle Brine
A brine I needed for a recipe and I had no pickles.

- 227 grams water (1 cup)
- 303 grams white vinegar (1⅓ cups)
- 12 grams sugar (1 tablespoon) (optional)
- 8-16 grams kosher salt (1-2 tablespoons)
- 6-12 grams dill seed (1-2 tablespoons)
- 5 grams garlic powder (1 teaspoon)
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
Place all ingredients in a small pot.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Turn off, remove from heat, let cool.
