Limoncello Calculator

Limoncello is taking a lot of lemon zest, adding it to vodka or Everclear, letting it sit for 4-8 weeks, then thinning it down with a simple syrup. The question is: how much water and sugar to use to make the simple syrup.

How Much Lemon Zest

I’ve heard the rule of big toe is the zest of 10 lemons for every liter of vodka. Give or take. 7 or 8 lemons if you’re working with a 750 mL “fifth” of alcohol.
