Pet Peeve
So you know that cooking sites that are so littered with ads you can’t actually use them annoy me.
Today I learned there’s a hard-copy equivalent.
I was using a recipe from a book that I generally like. However, because of a weird intro and kerning, they couldn’t fit the whole recipe on one page. So they have the ingredients and, essentially, the first step on one page. The first page ends with “Pour the brown butter into a large bowl.”
The next page starts “Add the bananas, granulated and brown sugars, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, and salt.” No quantities. And they’re all back on the previous page! So for each item I have to turn back a page to see that it’s 227grams of banana, etc.
If I haven’t done this in every recipe here so far, I will now include the quantity of an item in the instructions so you don’t have to be scrolling back and forth.
