Cajun Spice Rub

A great spice mix for almost anything. I’ve used it in eggs and on shrimp, pork, and chicken.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2.5 tsp. smoked paprika 1
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper 2
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 tsp. granulated onion powder
  • 1.25 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1.25 tsp. dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes (optional)3

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months

Notes

  1. Regular paprika is fine if you don’t like the smoky flavor or aroma of the smoked paprika.
  2. You can add more of this if you like it spicier.
  3. You may want to take these crushed red pepper flakes and grind them smaller in a mortar and pestle or spice grinder.
