Roasted Garlic Cloves
Posted On 29 January 2023
I roast whole heads of garlic all the time to serve with bread and baked brie, but I needed just some cloves to make a focaccia, so….
Roasted Garlic Cloves
Creates evenly roasted, deliciously soft, garlic cloves.
Equipment
- Small casserole dish with lid (or a "lid" made from foil)
Ingredients
- 24 garlic cloves, peeled, cleaned
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- Kosher Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F
- In a small bowl, toss the cloves with oil and salt. Drain.
- Make a "boat" with foil to put into the casserole dish. (See photo below)
- Put the cloves into the boat.
- Add a small amount of water or broth (chicken, beef, or vegetable) in the area outside of the "boat."
- Cover and bake for 25-35 minutes until a fork can easily pierce the largest clove.
Notes
Option: Add 1/2 teaspoon of Italian Seasoning or just Oregano with the oil and salt.
